Ferberizing in process!!!......

Wish us luck the next couple of days because we are gonna need it!! We have a little problem with our 7 month old, she will not sleep through the night, and therefore; either do we!!!!
My mom has been on a mission to help us and talked with other mothers and done some research on the computer to try to find something, anything to get miss Kennedy to sleep through the night. The WHOLE night. So, just like Robert De Niro in Meet the Fockers we are gonna try the Dr. Ferber method. It teaches you to let her self soothe by putting herself to sleep., but still checking in on her. I have read so many things saying not to leave your child in her bed crying without going to them because it leads to abandonment. Well, my mom after I wouldn't sleep through the night, did this and I really don't feel any sense of abandonment. Apparently we do it wrong by rocking her to bed and then laying her down. She wakes up constantly throughout the night and it's killing us!!! Well anyway so now we are going to try this and I will keep ya posted on the outcome of "Ferberizing". I found this website http://parenting.ivillage.com/baby/bsleep/0,,7fp0204j,00.html if anyone is curious. So, dun dun dun...here we go!

Good Luck! Just about the time you get her to sleep in her crib all night-she will learn how to crawl out.
Love,
Mom

Haha, mom is so right! She will be crawling out soon...that's a big challenge to keep them in when they are climbing monkeys. But, I dare say "I told you so!" when I said to let her cry. It took 3 nights of Kaelynn crying and then she got to where right at 9pm she'd be ready for bed...her bed!...and sleep all night! Gosh, I'm gonna be getting up all night again with this next baby soon...I so didn't think of that till now....crud! I'll just send him/her to you till it sleeps all night, since you're a pro at not sleeping :-)
